Take A Virtual Tour Of The Abandoned ‘Evil Dead 2’ Filming Locations [Video]

The outrageous cult classic Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn was unleashed on the world in 1987 by Sam Raimi. The campy and unsettling tone of this sequel was unlike anything horror audiences had encountered at the time. It has since evolved into one of the genre’s most cherished titles.

Now, thanks to popular YouTubers Adam Williams (AKA The Daily Woo) and Scott on Tape, we are able to experience the sacred grounds where the film was shot via virtual tour. And they’re taking us with them.

Evil Dead 2 was shot in Anson County, North Carolina at the site of a high school that had been converted into a small sound stage. Since Raimi’s team shot the film in the summer of 1986, the soundstage has been abandoned.

The location has since become a junk dumping site for locals and is a depressing shell of its former self. That said, it’s still glorious watching mega fans Adam and Scott explore the location, using behind-the-scenes photographs to map out where the history happened. It’s heartwarming to see a true fan encounter this sacred space. “This is legit horror history here,” said Williams during the tour.

The real Evil Dead action begins around the 20:28 mark. Check out the full virtual tour of the abandoned filming locations below.

Lastly, what did you think of the Evil Dead II filming locations video by The Daily Woo? Are you as interested in horror history as we are? Let me know on Twitter via @joshkorngut. I’m always around to chat all things Evil Dead.
