The 10 Most Painful Deaths In A Slasher Film, According To Reddit

Are you ready to get seriously nasty? I hope so, because today Redditor sifsand asks the question: what are some of the most painful death scenes in slasher film history? Of course, creative deaths are a mainstay of the slasher sub-genre, no questions about that. But, in lieu of just creativity, what are some of the most unsettlingly painful murder scenes in the game? The front-page of the internet came through with some reliable answers, so buckle up.

While most of the forthcoming list features complete classics, it’s kind of fun to see Cube Zero get thrown into the mix. The third Cube film might not be as well remembered as its original, but the opening kill is one of the most gnarly you’re likely to encounter anytime soon. Getting eaten alive by acid for a prolonged scene is just … an absolute nightmare. Check out the seriously underrated Cube Zero to see what I’m talking about.

Here are the top ten most painful deaths in a slasher film, according to Reddit:

  1. House of Wax – Wade’s wax figure transformation
  2. Freaky – Bottle shattered in throat death
  3. Fear Street 1994 – Bread slicer death
  4. A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors – Marionette death
  5. Wolf Creek – Head on a stick death
  6. Urban Legend – The dean has his Achilles tendon slashed
  7. Friday the 13th (2009) – Cooked in a sleeping bag death
  8. Cube Zero – Acid death
  9. Terrifier – Sawed in half, upside down
  10. Scream – Casey’s death

Lastly, what say you? Which of the above slasher movie deaths would you count as the most painful in the history of the genre? Better yet, you tell me. Hit me up on Twitter via @joshkorngut and let me know which slasher scenes have been unfairly snubbed from Reddit’s list. You know, for science.
