‘Freddy’s Nightmares’ Is Now Streaming Online For Free
You read that right. After years of being difficult to track down, Freddy’s Nightmares has found a new streaming home on the free-to-watch Tubi. This means both seasons of the outrageous Freddy Krueger-hosted anthology series are available to watch right now without paying a cent. The hilariously schlocky cable series was previously screening on the now-defunct El Rey Network and even more recently on Screambox. Now the title is available for free to anyone in the USA.
Freddy’s Nightmares (sometimes known as A Nightmare On Elm Street: The Series) first aired in October of 1988 in syndication and ran for 44 episodes. The show was hosted by Robert England as Krueger who’d introduce each story in the style of the Crypt Keeper. Produced by New Line Television, the series featured a number of celebrities before they achieved mainstream success. Some famous folk to appear include Brad Pitt, Kyle Chandler, and Bill Camp.
One of the best-remembered episodes of Freddy’s Nightmares was its pilot. Directed by Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), this first episode told the story of Freddy Kreuger’s prosecution. The courtroom episode featured Englund as Freddy sans any makeup as he was charged with murdering the children in Springwood.
