‘Erzulie’ Exclusive Sizzle: New Mermaid Horror Tears Into Flesh [Watch]
We need more mermaid horror. Agnieszka Smoczynska stunned us with her incredible mermaid musical The Lure in 2015, then there’s Lisa Brühlmann‘s 2018 film Blue My Mind. But I still crave more aquatic horror featuring sharp-toothed women with scaly tails and a hunger for blood. Thankfully, director Christine Chen and writer Camille Gladney have heard our prayers. They’ve delivered us a new mermaid film titled Erzulie.
In the film, a reunion between four friends quickly goes awry when they find themselves face to face with Erzulie: the swamp mermaid goddess.

Chen directed Erzulie, which was co-written by Chen and Gladney. Zoe Graham, Elizabeth Trieu, Courtney Olivier, Diana Rose, Leila Annastasia Scott, and Jason Kirkpatrick star in the film. Christine Chen, Payten Brewer, Candice Barley, Han Soto, and Andrew Van Den Houton produced Erzulie.
Erzulie will be released by Moth To Flame on May 27 at the Laemmle Glendale. Gravitas Ventures and Kamikaze Dogfight will release the film on digital platforms on June 14.
