‘The Munsters’: Rob Zombie Shares Sweet Photo With Richard Brake On Set
Rob Zombie is a machine, not only when it comes to filmmaking, but also in updating fans about the status of his adaptation of The Munsters. His Instagram grid is peppered with sweet images of his cast, all of whom are positively beaming in selfies with the director. Today, Zombie took to Instagram again to share the actor Richard Brake has wrapped filming.
Zombie previously shared that Brake is playing the role of Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang. The director described the character as Transylvania’s most popular mad scientist. Could he be villain material in The Munsters? After all, Brake is no stranger to horror, appearing as a fair share of bad guys, as seen in Offseason, Bingo Hell, and more. He’s also previously worked with Zombie on Halloween II, 31, and Three From Hell.
Check out the Instagram post below:
Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang is a Zombie original character, as he wasn’t previously seen in the famous 1964 The Munsters sitcom. The film will, of course, feature the iconic Herman Munster, Lily Minster, and Grandpa Munster. Jeff Daniel Philips, Sheri Moon Zombie, and Daniel Roebuck star in the film in those respective roles.
In the original series, the Munsters were your typical American family. Except for one thing. They’re all monsters! The show followed their exploits in Mockingbird Heights and how they navigated life in the suburbs. Zombie’s adding a slew of new characters to enrich the familiar world with a breath of fresh air.
We don’t have many plot details yet, but we do know The Munsters will feature an all-star cast, from Elvira to Sylvester McCoy. No word on the release date, or if the film will premiere directly on Peacock. But hopefully it’ll hit the streamer later this year.
