Doom 4 Coming To Next Gen Consoles; Rage 2 CancelledBethesda has announced that they will be scrapping the earlier version of Doom 4 and reinventing it for next gen consoles. The company believed that the content they had was not up to quality standards that were expected of it by Doom fans. Read on to learn more.

The original Doom was released in 1993 and has been called one of the best games of all time. During that time, Doom had all of the elements of a top game which included intense levels of violence, terror and gore. Id’s co-founder once stated that when the company set down to discuss the game that they wanted to discover what Doom really meant to them. The conclusion they come to was that it meant two things which was demons & shotguns! Now with Doom 4 being in development over five years–we find that the game is no where near being finished.

“An earlier version of Doom 4 did not exhibit the quality and excitement that Id and Bethesda intend to deliver and that Doom fans worldwide expect. As a result, Id refocused its efforts on a new version of Doom 4 that promises to meet the very high expectations everyone has for this game and this franchise. When we’re ready to talk about the Doom 4 Id is making, we will let folks know,” stated Bethesda’s VP of marketing and public relations Pete Hines.

With the company focusing on getting Doom 4 ready for the public–the company has decided to cancel Rage 2.

No release date is currently set for Doom 4.
