‘The Munsters’: Rob Zombie Announces When We Will See The First Trailer!
Rejoice! The time is finally here. Rob Zombie has hopped onto Instagram today with a very short video announcement. The shock rocker turned family friendly movie director has finally disclosed when the teaser trailer for his forthcoming version of The Munsters will hit the internet. And it’s soon…
According to Zombie’s official Instagram account, the first teaser trailer for The Munsters is arriving TOMORROW. The filmmaker shared the announcement alongside a black and white legacy logo for Universal Studios. The post is also accompanied by the hashtag “to a new world of gods and monsters.” Zombie has been tagging his posts with this line for some time now, and I’m starting to suspect it may have a lingering importance.
The original cast of The Munsters featured Fred Gwynne, Yvonne de Carlo, Beverly Owen, Butch Patrick, and Al Lewis as Grandpa Munster. Together, the group played the average nuclear American family. But twist—they were a clan of monsters!
Back in the 1980s, they resurfaced as The Munsters Today—the longest-running series in the property’s history. In 2012 NBC gave a reboot a try with Bryan Fuller at the helm. While the pilot for Mockingbird Lane has its fans, it wasn’t enough for the network to push the iteration forward as a series.
Lastly, there’s still no word if The Munsters will head to theaters, or if it’ll be exclusive through a streamer sometime in 2022.
