‘Nowhere Fast’: Demons, Zombies, and Punk Rock [Indie Spotlight Solo]
Hey Blood Babes and Gorehounds! I brought y’all here today (using highly dangerous and arcane summoning spells that I can barely pronounce) to tell you about the Indiegogo for an upcoming film by Charles D. Lincoln titled Nowhere Fast!
What’s it about? Who’s in it? When can you see it?
All very good questions! I’ll go ahead and let Lincoln answer them for you himself:
“So, Nowhere Fast… is a dark, funny, raunchy, violent, and bleak story about an all female NYC punk band called The Nemesisters (played by Acrane Divide’s Mikhaila Mehlman as Syd, the vocalist; Harley DelCogliano as Carmen, the bassist; Make My Blood Dance’s Filia Luna as Abbie, the guitarist who also shows up in Bishop’s Cove; and Madeline Parks as Stevie, the drummer) that goes on their first tour and encounter the end of the world. There’s the demonic Southern gentleman, psychotic redneck siblings played by Constance Payne and Chris Myers as Jesse and Dwayne Fuller. There’s a mysterious wildcard named Clementine, played by Helen Textor, who comes in… and just conquers every room she’s in, but she has a very dark past. Then there’s people like Angel Bradford, Robert Scott Abrams as locals; Christopher Cuccolo as Lee, the Nemesisters’ long suffering roadie; a load of twisted zombies (they start off Romero and end up Silent Hill); a group of demons in suits what are always smiling called The Smiling Men, and just a lot of insanity. Sex, drugs, punk rock. And then the flesh eating begins.”
Punk rock, zombies, demons, smiles; all the makings for a fun horror flick, don’t you think? Lincoln went on to say:
“It’s the second feature I’m going to be directing, the third I am writing and producing with my partner, Chelsea LeSage… It’s very influenced by stuff like Evil Dead (especially Ash vs. Evil Dead), Re-Animator, The Runaways, Natural Born Killers, Wild at Heart, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Videodrome, and Return of the Living Dead.”
For some reason, all that speaks to me! I wonder why that is…
Currently, Lincoln and his crew are still in rehearsal. But they plan to start shooting Nowhere Fast at the end of the month. And if that blood-soaked, high-octane summary has failed to bewitch you, it should be noted that Lincoln is no stranger to the indie-horror scene. His father is none other than Fred Lincoln, aka “Weasel” from the Wes Craven classic, The Last House on the Left. I know, right? Horror runs through his veins!
Lincoln and LeSage’s company (C. L. Squared Productions) have some other projects in the pipeline as well, so be sure to look out for their names. As always, as soon as I know more, you’ll know more!
Until next time…
Ciao, friends!
