‘The Munsters’ to Debut On Netflix This Fall!

The Munsters

Today Rob Zombie officially confirms that his film version of The Munsters will be a Netflix exclusive. Zombie took to Instagram to make the announcement and excitedly shared a side-by-side of The Munsters poster and the Wednesday poster. It seems like The Munsters and the Addams will once again square off on television, just like in 1964. Groovy.

Here’s what The Munsters director had to share:

This fall we are gonna spook-out like it’s 1964! Yep, THE MUNSTERS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY are returning to the boob tube at the same time courtesy of @netflix. It’s been 58 years since this clash of the titans first happened. Perfect entertainment for your pumpkin carving party. Just last week we got the full trailer for The Munsters, which revealed the new movie would be unleashed this September. And now we know where! While the tone of the new trailer is pretty much authentic to the original 1964 CBS television series, there are some obvious differences. First and foremost: no kids! Instead, Zombie’s version of events will focus on Herman and Lily’s love story.

The original cast of The Munsters featured Fred Gwynne, Yvonne de Carlo, Beverly Owen, Butch Patrick, and Al Lewis as Grandpa Munster. Together, the group played the average nuclear American family. But twist—they were a clan of monsters!

Updates for the new film have been coming in hot ever since production began in Budapest in 2021. You can check out all of the behind-the-scenes mayhem by clicking right here.
