Three high profile genre flicks have gone before the MPAA and come away with a rating. We bet you can’t guess what said rating is! Put it this way: The news is likely to make John Fithian, president and chief executive of the National Association of Theater Owners, joyfully piss himself.
That’s right, kids! We have a trifecta! Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim, the Dark Horse adaptation R.I.P.D., and Takashi Shimizu’s 7500 have all received a rating of PG-13. While not entirely unexpected, we’re still burning up over yesterday’s news story about R-rated films being the reason that the North American box office has been flailing.
That being said, I’ll end this story just like I did yesterday’s…
Idiot.
