‘American Horror Story’ Star and Queer Icon Leslie Jordan Passes
TMZ is reporting some rather sad news today as we are learning details of Leslie Jordan’s passing. The American Horror Story regular was involved in a car accident Monday morning in Hollywood, it is believed the 67 year old actor/comedian might have had a medical emergency leading up to the crash. Details are unclear at the moment but responding officers said that it appeared as though Jordan had lost control of the vehicle consistent with someone suffering a sudden medical event.
Recently Jordan is well known to horror fans with his recurring work on Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story franchise, but his career spanned 3 decades and extends well beyond his genre work which found him in the Supernatural, Friday the 13th, and Sharknado universes to name a few.
While many mainstream viewers may recognize Jordan from Will and Grace or The Cool Kids the veteran actor also enjoyed quite a lot of success on social media in recent years after finding a home for his comedic wit on Instagram during the pandemic.
Outside of acting and social media stardom the Tennessee born Jordan was also an icon of the LGBTQIA community enjoying several appearances on Ru Paul’s ‘Drag Race‘. More impactful though was his work during the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s with advocacy programs like the AIDS Project Los Angeles. He would later receive The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics’ Timeless Star award in 2021 as well as release a gospel album “Company’s Comin’” the same year.
We here at Dread Central offer our sincerest condolences to his friends and family.
