Fans Are Calling This New Netflix Religious Horror Movie ‘Shocking’ and ‘A Mindf*ck’
Netflix dropped a religious horror movie just in time to scare the hell out of us this Halloween season. Hellhole hit the streamer this week and is already getting the Internet’s attention.
In the film, a Polish police officer investigates mysterious disappearances by infiltrating a remote monastery where he discovers a dark truth about its clergy.
Hellhole is directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski, who also co-wrote it with Mirella Zaradkiewicz. You might remember that team from Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight. Hellhole stars Piotr Zurawski, Olaf Lubaszenko, and Sebastian Stankiewicz and looks like the Polish religious horror we need heading into the last weekend of the Halloween season.
The powers that be at Netflix describe Hellhole as, “Exorcisms. Disappearances. Something sinister is happening at the monastery in Lower Silesia, Poland – and the monks will do anything to hide the truth.”

Because we do not have nearly enough Polish horror movies readily streaming, this already has our interest piqued. The film has an 88-minute run-time and seems like a bunch of bad vibes in a robe. So, it is going on our must-watch list this week. Netflix has given us a lot of horror content aimed at families this season, so we love to see something that promises to be a bit more sinister.
