The days are getting shorter and the temperatures are getting lower. With Halloween having come and gone, it’s time to get into the holiday spirit with eggnog, cozy sweaters, and freshly baked cookies. It also means it’s time to break out the Christmas horror movies old and new to really make the holiday season perfect.

This year, we’re in for a treat because we have a lot of Christmas horror releases creeping over the horizon. From killer Santas to parasitic snow, here are some of the seasonal horror movies we’ve excited to watch this winter.

Christmas, Bloody Christmas

It’s Christmas Eve and fiery record store owner Tori Tooms just wants to get drunk and party, until the robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and makes her night more than a little complicated. Santa Claus begins a rampant killing spree through the neon-drenched snowscape against a backdrop of drugs, sex, metal, and violence, ultimately forcing Tori into a blood-splattered battle for survival against the ruthless heavy metal Saint Nick himself.

The Christmas Tapes

In Robert Livings and Randy Nundlall Jr.’s Christmas-Horror Anthology The Christmas Tapes, a family’s movie night on Christmas Eve is interrupted by a stranger, insistent on making the next Christmas ‘classic’ film himself.

Snow Falls

This terrifying wintertime horror tale will chill you to the bone. As med student Eden joins four friends at a remote cabin to celebrate New Year’s, party time quickly turns serious when a brutal winter storm isolates the kids and knocks out the power. After making frozen cocktails with the snow, Eden and her friends start acting strangely. Convinced that the flakes have infected them with an evil virus, they struggle to stay awake to avoid freezing to death. Who will survive this icy ordeal?
