‘#FLOAT’ Trailer: Influencers Meet The Supernatural In New Aquatic Horror [Exclusive]

#FLOAT

Influencer horror is the name of the genre game right now. TikTok stars and Instagram obsessives are ripe for the horror picking as vapid social media influencers dominate our screens. Horror producer Zac Locke, known for his work on Black Christmas, is offering his spin on the emerging subgenre with his directorial debut #FLOAT. Here, vloggers and aquatic horror are finally getting to meet.

Read the full synopsis below:

Young, beautiful, and full of life, vlogger Kali and her friends are heading to the river for their annual float. But it’s the first time since their friend overdosed and drowned last year. Their partying turns deadly as a sinister paranormal force plunges them into a life-and-death struggle forcing them to face their own fears as they turn on each other—and proceed to die one by one.

Watch the trailer exclusively on Dread Central:

XYZ Films’ James Emanuel Shapiro told Deadline: “Very few people know the horror genre and what makes horror work more than Zac Locke does. So when he told me he was directed directing his first film, I had to work on it. I was thrilled in that the film came out as good as I expected it to and I can’t wait for #FLOAT to be celebrated as one of the best horror debuts of 2022.”

Locke also told Deadline: “This film was so much fun to make, and I think it’ll be just as fun for audiences to watch. I’ve worked with both James and XYZ Films in many capacities over the years and I’m thrilled to have the perfect distribution partner to unleash this project onto the world.”

Kaya Coleman (The Sinners), Scarlett Sperduto (Those Who Walk Away), Grant Morningstar (Meathook), Kate Mayhew, Matt Wise, and Christina Nguyen (Lion) star in the film.

#FLOAT comes to digital and VOD on December 9, 2022.
