Darren Lynn Bousman Commits Sacrilege at CannesYep, easily my favorite headline of the day. No, Darren Lynn Bousman isn’t doing anything truly sinful at Cannes, but hopefully he’s ready to give audiences something rife with all manner of debauchery. Read on for the first details regarding his new film Sacrilege!

From the Press Release
Red Sea Media has assembled a strong slate in the last few months, including two new projects that the sales company has acquired worldwide rights for, excluding North America. Red Sea will be introducing the projects at the upcoming Marché du Film.

Red Sea has acquired the horror-thriller SACRILEGE, to be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW II-IV, 11-11-11). The film will be produced by Rick Dugdale of Enderby Entertainment through Enderby’s horror division Tony-Seven Films, Sean E. DeMott through Execution Style Entertainment, and Chris M. Bonifay through Limb from Limb Pictures. In SACRILEGE, a family takes back their son three years after he is kidnapped and brainwashed by a devil worshiping cult – now, he would like nothing more than to watch them get murdered. With the cult surrounding their cabin, the family must fight for their lives while trying to undo the damage. No cast has yet been announced. The film is currently available for all territories worldwide excluding North America.

“Sacrilege is one of the most intense and macabre scripts I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I am through the roof to finally be making it and having Red Sea in my corner selling it!” said Bousman.

The second title announced for the slate is HELL BABY, a comedic horror film written and directed by Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon (RENO 911!, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM I & II). From Darko Entertainment and produced by Jeff Culotta, Ted Hamm, Sean McKittrick and Peter Principato, the film stars Rob Corddry, Leslie Bibb, Riki Lindhome, Rob Huebel, Michael Ian Black, Paul Scheer, Keegan Michael Key, Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. In HELL BABY, an expectant couple moves into a haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans — a house with a demonic curse. Things spiral out of control and only the Vatican’s elite exorcism team can save them — or can they? The film is currently available for all territories worldwide excluding North America.

“Working with fun, creative and interesting directors makes you want to sell their stories to the world audience. We appreciate their originality and know the international crowds will too,” said Roman Kopelevich, CEO of Red Sea Media.
