Pain Killer Deadened
We’ve been talking about the upcoming feature Pain Killer, which stars Arrow in the Head webmaster John Fallon as a man on a drug-fueled mission of revenge and was directed by Samhain helmer Christian Veil, for a few years now, detailing its inception and creation. Never before has the title been an issue, as it’s simple and to the point, but apparently Dreamcatcher Interactive saw things differently.
The Pain Killer production team was recently contacted by them with a request to change the name of their film, as Dreamcatcher has a game called Painkiller (notice it’s one word, not two), a trademark on the name, and apparently dibs on the movie side of things as well.
After some research the team realized that, in the long run, a title change would be necessary so from here on out Pain Killer shall be known as Deaden which, I hate to admit, is actually a much cooler-sounding name than Pain Killer. The film’s official site has been re-worked, as has all the poster art for the film (man that’s gotta suck), and you can get the full story on the title change over at AITH if you’re curious. Deaden will premiere at the Sitges Film Festival, and the team will also have a booth at the upcoming American Film Market.
