Stephen King got his hands on a highly anticipated title and spoiler alert: he liked it. This movie has been on most horror hounds’ radars for a moment.

It just had its world premiere last month at SXSW and the buzz around it has only gotten louder. The film is Late Night with the Deviland Stephen King thinks it’s brilliant.

In Late Night With The Devil:

October 31, 1977. Jack Delroy’s syndicated talk show ‘Night Owls’ has long been a trusted companion to insomniacs around the country, but a year on from the tragic death of Jack’s wife, ratings have plummeted. Desperate to turn his fortunes around, Jack plans a Halloween special like no other, unaware he is about to unleash evil into the living rooms of America. Late Night With The Devil is the recently rediscovered recording of what went to air that fateful night.

Late Night with the Devil was written and directed by Cameron Cairnes and Colin Cairnes. It stars David Dastmalchian, Laura Gordon, Ian Bliss, and Fayssal Bazzi.

In his review, Dread Central’s Drew Tinnin had a lot of positive things to say about the acting. He noted Dastmalchian as one of the standouts:

In his first leading role, Dastmalchian plays Delroy with a sense of quiet desperation. He’s the late-night host the outsiders fall asleep to at night, and he’s clinging to whatever fame he has left. Delroy is easy to root for even when it becomes clear that he’s potentially dooming everyone in the studio, and possibly placing the rest of the country in danger as well.

Unlike Stephen King, or those who caught it at the fest last month, the rest of us will have to wait for the film to become accessible. However, we can still make time for some of the leading actor’s other roles.

We are very much here for the Dastmalchian era. Our Editor-In-Chief Mary Beth McAndrews recently caught up with the actor to discuss playing a serial killer in Hulu’s Boston Strangler

Are you as excited to check out Late Night with the Devil as I am? Have you seen it and agree with Stephen King? Let me know at @misssharai.
