Roland Emmerich to Direct His Way Through an Alien EmergenceIf there’s one thing director Roland Emmerich can do well, it’s stage gigantic alien invasion movies that are home to incredible set pieces and lots of big budget carnage! Well, guess what, kids…

According to Deadline, Roland Emmerich’s Centropolis Entertainment has acquired Emergence, a pitch for a large scale contemporary science fiction film by scribe Nic Kelman. Emmerich plans to direct the film, which is a new take on an alien invasion story containing hot-button science elements.

Hot-button science elements? Color us intrigued.

Kirstin Winkler, Centropolis’ Executive Vice President of Production, and Aaron Boyd, the company’s Director of Development, are set to produce. More on this one as it comes.
