How It All Started

With drinks so good, it’s scary, we spoke with the owner of Slasher Energy, Erick Sinatra, about creating the first horror energy drink brand. 

He details that the idea for Slasher Energy came to him when he and his partner were — well, drinking energy drinks and watching a horror movie. It was then they began brainstorming ideas for new products. As massive horror fans and avid consumers of energy drinks, it occurred to them that there were no horror-themed energy drinks on the market.

“As we discussed the idea further, we became increasingly convinced that it had the potential to be a unique and successful product,” Sinatra says. “We believed that the market was lacking a horror-themed energy drink and saw this as an opportunity to bring something new, fun, and innovative to consumers.”

As a company, Sinatra says the primary focus for their horror-themed energy drink is to not only represent and celebrate the Hispanic community, but to also provide a unique and exciting product that resonates with horror enthusiasts.

“We believe that by incorporating cultural elements and themes into our branding and marketing efforts, we can create a product that truly stands out in the crowded energy drink market,” Sinatra says. “Ultimately, our goal is to create a product that not only tastes great and provides a boost of energy, but also pays homage to the Hispanic community and the horror genre.”

Sinatra says it’s been an exciting year for the brand, which has been in the market for roughly a year. 

With hair-raising plans in the works for Slasher Energy, Sinatra considers one of the highlights of the brand’s journey so far to be their experience at Midsummer Scream last summer in Long Beach, Calif. “The event was a huge success,” he says. “We were able to meet a lot of people face-to-face, and people had the chance to try our drinks and purchase merch.”

Another big milestone for Slasher Energy, he says, was getting their products into four retail stores, including The Mystic Museum in Burbank, Calif., Things From Another World in Universal City, Calif., Terror Trader in Chandler, Ariz. and The Horror House in Chicago, Ill.

“All of this has happened in under a year, which is a huge accomplishment,” he says. “We’re looking forward to continuing to grow and expand.”

The Future Is Bright For Slasher Energy

So, what’s next for this killer energy drink brand?

Sinatra says Slasher Energy is always looking for ways to improve and expand their product offerings. In fact, the brand just announced their new cotton candy flavor packed with 200 mg of caffeine and a funhouse-themed design! The new drink is available now for pre-order on their website and will be exclusively available at this year’s Midsummer Scream.

In addition to introducing new flavors, designs, and content to their product packaging, Sinatra says Slasher’s overall goal is to continuously innovate and provide a high-quality product for horror lovers. He adds, “We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Slasher Energy and all the exciting new developments we have planned.”
