‘Insidious: The Red Door’ Trailer and Poster Will Pull You Back Into The Further [Watch]

Insidious: The Red Door Lin Shaye Interview

Are you ready to finally re-enter The Further? Good, because this summer Sony Pictures is opening the floodgates to spooky mayhem with Insidious: The Red Door. To promote the new sequel, IGN has released the first trailer and poster for the fifth film in the long-running James Wan franchise. Check out the promo below.

Patrick Wilson’s directorial debut will hit cinemas everywhere on July 7th, 2023. The actor, who also appeared in the first two films, will also star in the fifth film along with franchise favorites Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, and Ty Simpkins.

The story for Insidious: The Red Door catches up with the Lambert family ten years after their original terrifying ordeals that took place in the first two films. In the latest entry, “To put their demons to rest once and for all, Josh (Patrick Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go deeper into The Further than ever before.”

The latest foray into The Further also stars Hiam Abbass and Sinclair Daniel and comes produced by James Wan, Oren Peli, Jason Blum, and Leigh Whannell. The screenplay for Insidious: The Red Door hails from Scott Teems (Halloween Ends) and is based on a story by franchise scribe Leigh Whannell.

While speaking with GameSpot back in 2020, director Patrick Wilson had this to share about the new Insidious film:

“I just latched on to watching Dalton go to college and what does that do, watching a young man go to college and all the new experiences and feeling like an outsider and trying to fit in? And he’s got this ability that he doesn’t even know he has of being an astral projectors–being a traveler. Are we still hypnotized? Is there still that trend so what does that do to your life? What does that do to your marriage? And then what does that do from a father and son relationship?”
