‘Clock’ Director Alexis Jacknow Discusses The Horrors Of Motherhood

With her feature film debut Clock, director Alexis Jacknow wanted to show a new side of motherhood. She wanted to show a character that has never wanted children and has confidently told that to the world, whether it be her husband, father, or female best friends. Here, her character is Ella, played by Dianna Agron, who is perfectly content with living a child-free life full of vacations, fancy dinners, and a blossoming career. But, the more she’s nagged, the more she feels that she needs to be fixed. Jacknow’s film goes down a horrifying path where a woman tries to fix something that isn’t broken at all.
Dread Central spoke with Jacknow about her new film and dug into society’s obsession with a woman’s biological clock, working with Dianna Agron, and more.
