While this film plays by the same rules of the world created by Sam Raimi, it’s a very different and terrifying beast. Even before it hit theaters on April 21st, it had fans nearly passing out from anticipation. We were also trying to figure out why a cheese grater was a big part of the marketing.
This is the fifth movie in the franchise. It is also the first time since 2013 that we’ve had an Evil Dead entry on the big screen. Needless to say, society was more than ready to hit the theaters for this cultural event. According to Collider, the film has brought in $86.5 million as of this weekend.
