‘Beetlejuice 2’ Begins Production And Has An Official Release Date!

According to Deadline, Beetlejuice 2 is looking very much alive and has plans to hit theaters on Sept. 6, 2024. The film is written by Mike Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Tim Burton will direct. 

Fans are also happy for the return of Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice. However, he’ll also be joined by scream queen Jenna Ortega who will play Lydia’s daughter. As of right now, the rest of the cast is under wraps.

For those that need a refresher, Beetlejuice follows a recently deceased couple who hire the “ghost with the most” to get rid of the obnoxious family that has moved into their home.

The original film was written by Michael McDowell and Warren Skaaren. It was directed by Tim Burton. It starred Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Geena Davis, and Catherine O’Hara.

Released in 1988, it also inspired a 90s cartoon and a 2019 Broadway musical. The character is also one of Michael Keaton’s most beloved roles among fans. He has yet to be replaced in our hearts, so his signing on won a lot of us over.

Not much is known about Burton’s plans for Beetlejuice 2. However, we do know that it’s scheduled to start filming in London today.
