True-crime adaptations are thriving among streamers right now. So maybe that is how we ended up with two versions of the same story within 12 months of each other. No matter, that didn’t stop this star-studded miniseries from making its way to the top spot on the charts. The #1 series on HBOMax today is Love & Death.
In the show, Candy has an affair with her best friend’s husband. However, things escalate quickly and someone ends up using an ax to murder Candy’s best friend.

Love & Death was created by David E. Kelley. It is directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and stars Elizabeth Olsen, Amelie Dallimore, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, + Krysten Ritter.
The show is based on the true events of the Candy Montgomery case. It is an HBOMax original limited series.
Many viewers are here Elizabeth Olsen’s performance while demanding she be nominated for various awards. Others are shaken that the series is inspired by terrifying real-life events. Some fans are even saying that it’s better than Candy, the Hulu adaptation of the same story.
