A New ‘Resident Evil’ Film Is Reportedly In Development
Resident Evil hive rise! Word on the Ontario, Canada streets is it that we’re very possibly getting a new movie.
While explaining how an 11 million dollar boost from the local government will be spent on local projects, Sudbury.com, mentioned one of those titles would be The Umbrella Chronicles.
“Although no details are provided, The Umbrella Chronicles is a Resident Evil video game, and the 2021 movie, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, was filmed in Sudbury. The production company behind the Umbrella Chronicles movie is Raccoon HG Film Productions, which was behind the Sudbury-filmed Resident Evil movie.” – Sudbury.com

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles was a hodgepodge shooter originally released on Wii. It used bits of various games in the franchise. It also saw nine playable characters from the ongoing saga in one game. So, if this movie dips into that title, anything could be on the table to be completely honest.
Most of us thought the last movie would be it for a while. Because there have been no announcements from Capcom, Screen Gems, or Sony.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City was written and directed by Johannes Roberts. It starred Kaya Scodelario, Robbie Amell, Avan Jogia, Lily Gao, and Hannah John-Kamen.
If you sat it out, then you can watch the trailer below. It’s currently streaming on Starz if you want to check it out.
