Fox Narrows Down Search for its New Victor Frankenstein

Jack Huston Frankenstein20th Century Fox is looking at two actors in particular to fill the role of Victor Frankenstein in the upcoming flick Frankenstein which features Daniel Radcliffe as the hunchback assistant named Igor.

According to Deadline, Fox is flying both Jack Huston (pictured; “Boardwalk Empire”) and Toby Kebbel (Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla) to London to read for the coveted part. While the list could expand, the early word seems to indicate that Fox is looking to have this wrapped up by next week.

Paul McGuigan is at the helm of this revisionist take on Mary Shelley’s masterpiece. Based on a script by Max Landis (Chronicle), this adaptation of Shelley’s novel of the same name puts a sci-fi take on this classic story about a creature produced through a scientific experiment. Radcliffe’s hunchback is described as pathologically dirty and dressed in old clown’s clothing.

Look for this latest take on the classic tale in theatres October 17, 2014.
