This Classic Harrison Ford Thriller Is Getting A Second Life On Netflix

Today is Harrison Ford’s birthday. The film icon is probably celebrating his 81st trip around the sun doing PR for the newest installment of the Indiana Jones franchise. However, we’re here today to celebrate one of the many action thrillers he put out in the 90s. One that maybe didn’t get as much love as the other heavy hitters he was a part of during that era. That’s right, friends, Clear and Present Danger is streaming on Netflix.

“Agent Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) becomes acting deputy director of the CIA when Admiral Greer (James Earl Jones) is diagnosed with cancer. When an American businessman, and friend of the president, is murdered on a yacht, Ryan starts discovering links between the man and drug dealers. As CIA agent John Clark (Willem Dafoe) is sent to Colombia to kill drug kingpins in retaliation, Ryan must fight through multiple cover-ups to figure out what happened and who’s responsible.“

Clear and Present Danger was directed by Phillip Noyce. It was written by Donald E. Stewart, Steven Zaillian, and John Milius. The film is adapted from the Tom Clancy novel of the same name. The movie stars Harrison Ford, James Earl Jones, Willem Dafoe, and Benjamin Bratt.

Harrison Ford’s acting resume dates back to before I was born. So, the internet is divided on the best performance to celebrate this event. Many Star Wars pages, Indiana Jones accounts, co-stars, and fans are just posting funny clips and thirst traps.

It was difficult to choose just one thriller from his list of credits. I mean, the man was in What Lies Beneath, Witness, Air Force One, and Blade Runner to name a few.

However, Clear and Present Danger also sticks out for nerd culture because it sees Harrison Ford and James Earl Jones in a movie during that time when people assumed the Star Wars franchise was over.
