Bates Motel Heading to San Diego Comic-Con in July and to Blu-ray/DVD in SeptemberWe have lots of “Bates Motel” news today as the show is about to make an appearance at next month’s San Diego Comic-Con and then arrive on Blu-ray/DVD in September from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Read on for the details of both!

Saturday at the 2013 SDCC is shaping up to be jam-packed with TV panels, but one we don’t plan to miss includes the executive producers and several cast members of “Bates Motel”:

Who: Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring, The Departed), Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland), Max Thieriot (House at the End of the Street), Olivia Cooke (Blackout), and co-star Nestor Carbonell (“Lost,” The Dark Knight Rises).

What: Series stars will join executive producers Carlton Cuse (“Lost”) and Kerry Ehrin (“Friday Night Lights”) for a thought-provoking panel discussion about the critically acclaimed drama at San Diego’s Comic-Con.

When: Saturday, July 20, from 10:00-11:00 am; Room: TBD

About: “Bates Motel” serves as a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film Psycho, giving viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years. Fans have access to the dark, twisted backstory of Norman Bates and how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is. Season Two of “Bates Motel” is currently in production and is slated to air early 2014.
