This “Electrifying” Tamil Thriller Is Dominating The Netflix Charts
A new political thriller has shaken up the Films (Non-English) Netflix charts this week. The movie was released on June 29th but is just now finding its fan base and making its way into the Top 10. Maamannan is the movie to keep an eye on, and I am excited to tell you why.
Netflix Synopsis
“A veteran statesman and his son are pulled into a violent power struggle when a cold-blooded political scion pursues a vengeful rise.”

Maamannan was written and directed by Mari Selvaraj. It stars Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil, Keerthy Suresh, Raveena Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, Geetha Kailasam, and Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Twitter is digging this film. Many are raving about Fahadh Faasil’s performance specifically. While others are dissecting the central themes of the film.

We love to see an international thriller claim a Netflix Top 10 spot. Especially the kind that deals with politics and caste systems while still serving vengeance. We’re well on our way to joining everyone else on the Fahadh Faasil bandwagon.
Because I can probably count on one hand the amount of Tamil-language political thrillers I have seen on Netflix, I am adding it to my queue now. Check out the trailer below if you need more reasons to do the same though.
