‘The Fall Of The House Of Usher’: Mike Flanagan’s New Netflix Series Is Coming This October!
First, Mike Flanagan took on Shirley Jackson in 2018 with his The Haunting Of Hill House. Then he adapted Henry James with The Haunting of Bly Manor. Now, the horror auteur is tackling the legendary Edgar Allan Poe with Flanagan’s next Netflix limited horror series The Fall Of The House Of Usher. We’ve already been buzzing with excitement for Flanagan’s take on Poe, but today we’re even more excited as Netflix has dropped first-look images, a new poster, and the official release date!
Read the full synopsis for the highly anticipated series below:
In this wicked series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege, and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.
Flanagan has obviously put his contemporary twist with the Usher siblings owning a pharmaceutical company and building lives on the backs of the poor. Poe’s original story, and perhaps his most popular, follows a narrator who visits the decaying home of the Usher family where he finds Roderick and his sick sister, Madeline. The series is set to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
