‘The Weird Kidz’ Exclusive Poster Is The Comic Book Cover Of Your Nightmares
Almost a decade in the making, director, writer, and animator Zach Passero‘s The Weird Kidz has been unleashed onto the world via film festivals. This labor of love is an ode to the 80s horror and coming-of-age tales of Passero’s youth, and will undoubtedly speak to many of us horror fans.
Read the full synopsis below:
When three pre-teen boys and an older brother and his girlfriend take off for a weekend campout, none of them could imagine the horrors (and laughs) awaiting them in a remote desert inhabited by a legendary night creature and crazed townsfolk. Puberty and adventure await…along with terror, amputations, and midnight cult rituals!
We have an exclusive look at the film’s newest poster, which feels like the perfect comic book cover to grab your kid self’s attention.

In his review of the film, Dread Central’s Tyler Doupé said,
The Weird Kidz captures the spirit of films like The Goonies and The Gate, while delivering a wholly original narrative that’s filled to the brim with bathroom humor and dick jokes. This irreverent effort is likely to appeal to anyone that grew up on ‘80s movies with a soft spot for the output of that iconic time period.
Ellar Coltrane, Tess Passero Dug, Sydney O’Donnell, Glenn Bolto, and Brian Ceely lend their voices to the film with Sean Bridgers and Angela Bettis.
Lucky McKee and Charles Horak produced the film.
The Weird Kidz will have its UK premiere during this year’s FrightFest.
