The #1 Movie On Netflix Is A Demonic Horror Film, And Fans Are Demanding A Sequel

The Netflix charts are fickle, and this week is no different. This 2023 horror movie recently rode in on a Vespa and snatched the #1 spot this week. That’s right, y’all! Our new king is The Pope’s Exorcist, and we are here with all the details.

Rotten Tomatoes Synopsis

“Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican (Academy Award®-winner Russell Crowe), The Pope’s Exorcist follows Amorth as he investigates a young boy’s terrifying possession and ends up uncovering a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has desperately tried to keep hidden.”

This supernatural horror movie is based on the books An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories by Father Gabriele Amorth. The books are based on the adventures of Father Amorth, who allegedly performed over 150,000 exorcisms during his lifetime.

The Pope’s Exorcist is directed by Julius Avery. The screenplay was written by Michael Petroni and Evan Spiliotopoulos. The movie stars Russell Crowe, Franco Nero, Alex Essoe, and the voice of Ralph Ineson.

Many Netflix subscribers are having fun with what looks like a chaotic exorcism movie. Others are rediscovering their appreciation of Russell Crowe.
