The 10 Most Shocking Twist Endings In Thrillers (And Where To Stream Them), According To Reddit

Very few things bring us the same joy as a Reddit horror list. This is why when u/Brandon_SMU asked the community for movies with great twists or twist endings, we leaned in. As usual, the Reddit community gave us an unimpeachable list. Which is why we need to share it immediately!

The Invitation (2015)

Where You Can Watch: Freevee, PeacockPluto TVRedbox, and Tubi

A man finds himself in a deadly predicament when he accepts an invitation to a dinner party hosted by his ex-wife. If you weren’t on the Karyn Kusama bandwagon before, then you damn sure were after you picked your jaw up during the credits of this movie.

The Mist (2007)

Where You Can Watch: Freevee and Pluto TV

A massive storm and murderous monsters force a small band of survivors to take shelter in a supermarket. The ending was the best thing about this movie. A part of me has been screaming since the first time I watched it back in the aughts.

The Machinist (2004)

Where You Can Watch: MGM+ and Paramount+

A man battling insomnia finds himself worrying about his sanity. Before playing Batman, Christian Bale was Trevor Reznik, and we were welcome. This movie is just three twists in a trench coat, and Reddit knows it.

Jacob’s Ladder (1990)

Where You Can Watch: MGM+Paramount+, and Prime Video

A war vet mourning the death of a child tries to piece together his past while dissociating. Even as a child, I knew Tim Robbins was ACTING and that I wasn’t smart enough to fully grasp this movie. Those two things are still true today.

Come to Daddy (2019)

Where You Can Watch: Pluto TV and Tubi

A man tries to reconnect with his estranged dad at a cabin in the woods. As a 90s kid, I am familiar with Elijah Wood’s work because it’s mandatory for my generation. So I can tell you that this was his warning shot to his fans that he will be doing even weirder shit now, and we better get used to it.

Frailty (2001)

Where You Can Watch: Youtube

A man tells the FBI about how his father made him kill “demons” as a child. This mysterious and spooky movie put Matthew McConaughey and the late Bill Paxton together just to send us to therapy. This is cinema!

Enemy (2013)

Where You Can Watch: VOD

A man hunts down his look-alike after he sees him in a movie. Jake Gyllenhaal is here, and we all know he loves to get weird. To be honest, Reddit could have just put his name down and hit send.

The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

Where You Can Watch: Max

Five friends get more than they bargained for at their remote cabin. This twist had me and my entire friend group screaming. This was one of the first horror comedies I enjoyed, and I’m happy Reddit appreciates it too.
