Netflix Synopsis
“May 2017. The charred remains of police officer Pedro (José Manuel Poga) are found inside a burnt-out car at Barcelona’s Foix reservoir. The discovery quickly arouses the public’s interest, especially when the investigation begins to reveal a network of toxic relationships, deceit, violence, and sexual scandals involving Pedro and two fellow police officers: his partner Rosa (Úrsula Corberó) and her ex-boyfriend Albert (Quim Gutiérrez).”

Burning Body is directed by Jorge Torregrossa (Intimacy, La Vida Inesperada). It was written by Laura Sarmiento (Intimacy, Under Her Control). The series stars Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist), José Manuel Poga (Money Heist), Quim Gutiérrez (The Neighbor), Isak Ferriz (Infiesto), Eva Llorach (Quién te cantará), and Raúl Prieto (The Snow Girl).

According to Netflix Tudum, the series is based on el Crimen de la Guardia Urbana, or the crime of the Urban Guard. The case sparked a media frenzy in Spain when the body of Guardia officer Pedro Rodríguez was found. The investigation and trial painted a chilling tale of betrayal involving Rodríguez’s partner, Rosa Peral, and her lover, Albert López, who was also an officer of the law.
