Stephen King Seemingly Declares His Favorite New Streaming Service

We think horror author Stephen King just told us his favorite streamer. Surprisingly enough, it’s not the one you might be thinking of. While every app under the sun has a few King adaptations this time of year, and it seems like Netflix or Max usually have the most, that’s not the one he tweeted about.

Turns out Stephen King is a proud Hulu subscriber. While they host a nice list of series based on his work including Castle Rock and 11.22.63, they also seem to be where King watches many horror titles even outside of Huluween season.

We thought it would be fun to look back at some of the Hulu finds Uncle Stephen has recommended on Twitter most recently. So, we compiled a short list of his to help you get the most out of your subscription.

Stephen King Recommends These Hulu Movies

No One Will Save You (2023)

A woman returns to the home she grew up in only to be terrorized by otherworldly intruders. This Hulu Original landed on Friday, and Stephen King was on it. He took to Twitter to praise the film, describing it as “Brilliant, daring, involving, scary.”

Fall (2022)

A simple climb up a tower goes wrong, leaving 2 friends stuck 2,000 feet in the air. King didn’t let a Starz Premium add-on stop him from getting his adrenaline rush with this thrilling adventure. He called it “Tight, terrific, and very, very scary” while sending a series of complimentary tweets into the universe.

The Last Victim (2021)

A Neo-Western thriller follows a sheriff trying to solve the worst case of his career in a small town. Stephen King referred to it as a “bloodthirsty little thriller,” and praised the acting in the film while lamenting that there wasn’t nearly enough for Ron Perlman to do.

Storm of The Century (1999)

A blizzard isolates a small town as a mysterious stranger shows up to terrorize them. This is Stephen King’s favorite self-written series. Which is wild because it’s also my favorite series by him. He celebrated on Twitter when the uncut and unrated version made its way to Hulu. That might be when they became his favorite streamer, but who can say?

I find it comforting that like most of us, Stephen King is spending a lot of time cozying up to Hulu’s horror section. I know I have lost countless hours hitting play on movies and series over there these last few years.

Let me know if you’ve seen these Stephen King Hulu recommendations at @misssharai. While you’re there, we could also play which horrorific titles we think he might like.
