All of us have a story about that one horror movie that scarred us for life. Whether it was a bonafide horror classic or one moment from an animated movie supposedly meant for kids, everyone has a story like that, horror lover or not. That’s why we’re excited to have the Scarred For Life podcast, co-hosted by Terry Mesnard of Gayly Dreadful and Dread Central’s own Mary Beth McAndrews, join the Dread Podcast Network.

For the past four years, Terry and Mary Beth have spoken with horror filmmakers, game developers, actors, writers, and more about that one film that terrified them growing up and made them horror fans for life. Past guests have included Akela Cooper, Brandon Cronenberg, Amy Seimetz, Eric LaRocca, and more. They dig into what scares us all and, more importantly, why it scares us. But don’t worry, they have plenty of laughs, too.

With over 200 episodes in their four-year run, there is plenty to listen to! Plus, they release a mini-episode every Friday called Little Cuts, where they discuss what they’ve watched that week.

Dig into the show below:

On this week’s episode, Terry and Mary Beth interview Emmett Nahil about his latest graphic novel, Let Me Out. They chat about anti-nostalgia, Satanic panic, queer horror, and more before exploring why Insidious terrified him growing up. Along the way, they share stories about this horrifying movie, talk about its homages, why it works as a scary movie, and Wan’s influence on horror.

Listen to new episodes of Scarred for Life every Monday and Friday on the Dread Podcast Network! Make sure to follow the podcast on Twitter, Instagram, and Bluesky.
