One of the Best Halloween Movies of All Time Now Tops HBO Max Streaming Charts

Plenty of horror movies have topped the charts over at Max. While we’ve already reviewed their Halloween landing page for all things terrifying this season, plenty of you have already catapulted the likes of It, Scream, and Meg 2: The Trench to the top of the United States Max streaming charts. Comfortably landing at number 6 is Halloween perennial Trick ‘r Treat.

Per Max: In a small town on Halloween night, those who break the rules of the holiday do so at their own peril.

Not that Trick ‘r Treat really needs much of an introduction. Michael Dougherty’s horror opus is the stuff of horror anthology dreams. It’s a terrifying, fresh reinvention of familiar tropes, no doubt accounting for its legacy nearly twenty years after its release. Dylan Baker, Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, and more round out the stacked cast of recognizable faces contending with Halloween mascot Sam’s night of trickery and redemption. He’s the cutest thing ever and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. Now that he’s on Max, it’s all I’ll be thinking about.

Here at Dread Central, we can’t get enough of our seasonal Trick ‘r Treat binge. Recently, we looked at the film’s many deaths and ranked them in order of who deserved it the most. Check out that piece here. The fans also can’t seem to get enough of Sam and Trick ‘r Treat, and they’ve taken to Twitter to share their thoughts about the movie being on Max. Check those out below:

Fans new and old seem to be thrilled that Sam is now on Max. Like the rest of the internet, I can’t get enough of the little guy.

What do you think? When do you plan to have your annual rewatch of Trick ‘r Treat this season (presuming you haven’t already watched it on Max a dozen times this year like I have)? Let me know over on Twitter @Chadiscollins. Be certain to follow the rules if you do—you never know who’s watching.
