Supernatural Horror Feature ‘Do Not Watch’ To World Premiere at Screamfest [Exclusive Images]
Acclaimed cinematographer Justin Janowitz’s feature directorial debut Do Not Watch is set to have its World Premiere on October 16, 2023, at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles. And, we’ve got a batch of exclusive stills and teaser art to accompany the announcement!
The film—directed by Janowitz from a screenplay by Ryan Toyama—was filmed on location in and around Los Angeles. Produced by Circa 1888’s JP Ouellette, Dylan Matlock, and Nico Falls, Do Not Watch is their follow-up to their critically acclaimed, BAFTA-nominated 2021 feature Mass, which world premiered at Sundance.
The producers have revealed to us that the plot of Do Not Watch is as follows:
“A cautionary tale of madness that is told through the lens of an unseen editor, who has constructed a film that reveals the events surrounding the disappearance of a post-production crew and the growing darkness that drove them insane, Do Not Watch is a decades-spanning mystery interwoven across three timelines: a present-day documentary; several missing person cases; and scientific research footage from old VHS tapes.”

The cast includes Ezekiel Ajeigbe, Alix Angelis (The Cleansing Hour), Ella May Cannon (Trees for Peace), Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), and David Ury (Breaking Bad), along with Sara Fletcher, Greg Scali, John Henry Richardson, Danny Mooney, Sam Boxleitner, Garth Wynne-Jones, Brendan McCay, Jodie Bentley, Madison Lawlor, Michael Deni, Katie Lohmann, and Adetokumboh M’Cormack.
Producer JP Ouellette says of the festival selection,
“I have been making genre films since I was a kid, and I have been attending Screamfest as a fan for the better part of a decade. There’s a reason why the industry refers to them as the ‘Sundance of Horror’. I’m thrilled we’re able to have our World Premiere there, on the big screen, with a live audience, as we feel it’s the best way to experience the insanity that is Do Not Watch.”
