October is a damn good month to be involved with a film adaptation of a Stephen King novel. His work is taking over multiple streamers’ charts, which is the ultimate sign that Halloween is upon us. Currently, It Chapter Two is the #1 horror movie on Hulu. The terrifying clown-infested chapter is the follow up to the most successful horror movie ever made.

Let’s refresh your memory about what this installment covers:

“Defeated by members of the Losers’ Club, the evil clown Pennywise returns 27 years later to terrorize the town of Derry, Maine, once again. Now adults, the childhood friends have long since gone their separate ways. But when people start disappearing, Mike Hanlon calls the others home for one final stand. Damaged by scars from the past, the united Losers must conquer their deepest fears to destroy the shape-shifting Pennywise—now more powerful than ever.”

It Chapter Two was directed by Andy Muschietti. The screenplay was written by Gary Dauberman, based on the novel written by Stephen King. The movie stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Bill Skarsgård.

This chapter was the second half of the remake of the original It miniseries, which premiered in 1990. The series was directed by Tommy Lee Wallace, who also co-wrote it with Lawrence D. Cohen. It starred Harry Anderson, Dennis Christopher, Richard Masur, Annette O’Toole, Tim Reid, John Ritter, Richard Thomas, and Tim Curry.

I like to call It Chapter Two “A Tale Of Two Bills” because Bill Hader and Bill Skarsgård understood the assignment even when none of the other adult cast members did. However, you can make it a double feature and judge both halves for yourself. The first part, It, is currently streaming on Max. Let me know which chapter is your favorite at @misssharai.
