Spanish directors Raúl Cerezo and Fernando González Gómez, the minds behind the 2022 body horror The Passenger, are back with an even more twisted vision of terror. Their new film The Elderly takes the goopy terror of their previous film and turns up the scares as far as they can. If you love shocking horror cinema, The Elderly is required viewing. Following the sudden suicide of his wife, Manuel begins acting violently strange. Soon a series of paranormal events has all of the local elderly behaving oddly. They all seem to know something the young do not—paired with a lust for blood.

In her review of The Elderly from last year’s Fantastic Fest, Dread Central’s Sharai Bohannon wrote, “The Elderly is a disturbingly deadly chaotic ride. Whenever you think it has outdone itself, it goes bigger in its quest to leave you unsettled and terrified.”
Cerezo wrote The Elderly with Javier Trigales and Rubén Sánchez Trigos. Zorion Eguileor, Gustavo Salmerón, Paula Gallego, Irene Anula, Juan Acedo, and Ángela Gamonal star in the film.
The Elderly comes to theaters on October 13, 2023, and to VOD and Blu-ray on October 31, 2023.
