The #1 Indie Horror Film On iTunes Praised For “Sincere emotion and legitimately bizarre kills”
Last week, a new face of horror skipped onto the scene with the release of Dread’s, sister company to Dread Central, The Jester. Born from director and co-writer Colin Krawchuk’s short film series of the same title, co-written and starring Michael Sheffield, this dapper-looking fella is ready to play some tricks on you this Halloween.
In the film,
After the recent death of their father, two estranged sisters find themselves being stalked by a malevolent being known as The Jester. Revealing himself to be more than just a man in a mask, the evil entity begins to further torment the inhabitants of this small town on Halloween night. The path to defeating this unholy monster lies with the two sisters who realize that the only way to survive is to figure out how to right the wrongs of their dark past.
It seems that The Jester has already delivered some scares this Halloween season as the film has climbed to the tops of the iTunes charts! It’s currently sitting at #17 on the all-genres chart, #3 in horror, and #1 in independent films.
The feature stars Lelia Symington, Michael Sheffield, Matt Servitto, Ken Arnold, Mary Jane Pentony, and Delaney White.
Krawchuk and Sheffield created the Jester in 2016 with the original short about a creature that targeted those who didn’t have the Halloween spirit. Now, they’ve created something surprisingly even more sinister in the feature film.
Fans have taken to Twitter to share their reactions to the new Halloween must-watch:
