The prolific Patrick Rea (Nailbiter) has released a new short film, and we have info on that along with two other projects he has in the works: Enclosure and Get Back Joe.
Rea’s new short film, titled “Vindicate,” stars Michael Joiner and Aaron Laue and is part of the Kansas City-based web series Withered World. The web series, created by Bryce Young, is set on the last day of the Earth with each episode showing a different story by separate directors. “Vindicate,” written and directed by Rea, follows a man who seeks revenge for the death of his family while the world is a ticking clock.
Check it out below, and for more info visit the official Withered World website.

We previously told you about Get Back Joe, which Rea is developing with Blanc/Biehn Productions, and now have a few more details. With a story by Rea and Lony Ruhmann, Get Back Joe deals with technology that allows its users to travel back in time using astral projection. Joe must attempt to travel to specific dates that have been blocked by the government in order to save his family. Production is set to begin in July 2014 based on a screenplay penned by Rea and Michelle Davidson.
Lastly, because he’s just not busy enough, Rea is also in pre-production on Enclosure, which is aiming to shoot principal photography in Kansas and Missouri in October. The feature film about a married couple trapped inside a tent with a mysterious stranger while ferocious creatures wait for them outside is also co-written by Rea and Davidson.
Look for more on all of these projects soon! In the meantime Rea’s latest, Nailbiter, is currently available through Lionsgate with a sequel also in the works. And you can see some of his other award-winning short films at SenoReality on Vimeo.
