Hulu Horror: Recent Release With Perfect Halloween Vibes Crawls To Top Of Streaming Charts

Despite a botched summer release that saw it ostensibly release wide,  only for no one to be able to find it. Cobweb is finally getting its due. Samuel Bodin’s Halloween haunter might not have domestic box office figures to report, but now, it can proudly declare itself the number one movie on Hulu. Steadily climbing the charts since its premiere last week, Cobweb is finally in the top spot, eager to terrify audiences right before Halloween. Check out the trailer below!

Per Hulu: Peter confides in his parents (Lizzy Caplan, Antony Starr) about mysterious tapping in his bedroom wall, but they say it’s just an old house. As his fear grows, so do his doubts.

Bodin, best known for his terrifying Netflix series Marianne, brought his signature blend of Gothicism and paranoia to Cobweb. Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr, as parents Carol and Mark, respectively, shift between rigid safeguarding and incredulous hostility toward their son, Peter (Woody Norman). As possible supernatural occurrences mount—someone or something is living inside Peter’s walls—everyone’s behavior unfurls into something more unhinged.

Bodin, a certified weirdo in the best way, keeps audiences guessing until the third act reveals a shocking and terrifying bloodbath that introduces one of the strongest horror villains audiences will see this year. You’ll have to check it out on Hulu to see what I’m talking about.

In other words, Cobweb is incredible. It’s in my personal running for the best of the year, and based on the online response, it seems I’m not the only one.

No doubt Cobweb will be topping a lot of lists when the end of the year rolls around. Hulu has been killing it with their Hulu-ween offerings this year, and if you haven’t yet caught Cobweb, it’s the perfect cocktail of violence and classic scares for a Halloween movie night.
