Pssst, it’s Famke Janssen. The genre stalwart of the 1990s is finished being Taken (1, 2, and 3) and now stars in the number one thriller film on Netflix. Nour Wazzi’s Locked In is presently the most streamed thriller on the platform, skyrocketing up several places since its premiere last week. Check out a trailer and synopsis below.

Per Netflix: A kindly nurse tries to unlock the secrets of a coma patient’s injury – and discovers the bitter rivalry, infidelity, betrayal and murder behind them.

Locked In, for better or worse, looks like exactly the kind of thriller Netflix excels at hosting. It’s got a recognizable cast, an easy hook, and plenty of sordid (and sexy) twists and turns to disorient even the most casual of viewers. It might not be high art, but not everything needs to be. Sometimes a movie is there for a sultry charge and little more, and from the looks of things, Locked In looks like it does just that. In other words, it might be worth getting locked in with.

Naturally, fans have taken to Twitter to share their excitement over the film. Netflix commands a more vocal audience than most, and Locked In fans have had plenty to say about the new thriller online.

Fans seem to be loving the twists, the intrigue, and as expected, the glorious return of one Famke Janssen. With the shift into awards season, these kinds of offerings might be on the back burner until next year as Netflix and every other streamer vie for an Oscar. So, to bide some time, now is as great a time as any to binge Locked In and adjacent thrillers.

What do you think? Have you had a chance to check out Locked In? How does it compare to Netflix’s other thrillers? Let me know over on Twitter @Chadiscollins.
