Some quick news has come in for Warner Bros.’ latest spin on the classic tale of The Hunchback of Notre Dame starring Josh Brolin. The house that the bunny built has gotten itself a director for the hump-happy project! Read on for details.
According to Variety, Hero helmer Zhang Yimou is in talks to direct Quasimodo for Warner Bros. The scripting team of Kieran and Michele Mulroney are on board to pen the flick based on an idea developed by Brolin. No word yet on whether or not Brolin will be donning the extensive make-up, but after the disaster that was Jonah Hex, we’re not too sure Hollywood would let him ugly it up again.
Stay tuned.
The classic Victor Hugo novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame follows a gypsy girl who is framed for murder, and only the deformed bellringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, Quasimodo, can save her.
