This is NOT a drill. Thanks to the success of the last Mortal Kombat game that emerged in 2011, the hit live-action web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy AND stirring of another live-action film, we’re getting another MK game!

Fuck YES.

While at San Diego Comic-Con, Mortal Kombat Legacy producer Lance Sloane gave GamerHub and fans a hint hint double hint that yes, another title in the celebrated VG franchise is currently in development and while nothing is confirmed, Sloane said that the game will be released side-by-side with the next film (which HAS been confirmed and given the green light).

Sloane tells the site that “We’ve been in green light committee for a while at the studio and we’ve got a great script (and) we’ve got a great director with Kevin Tancharoen, who is on board; it’s just figuring out the business side of it and when we would do it and when we would launch it and how do we sync up with the launch of the game that they’re (NeatherRealm Studios) working on now. It’s not 100 percent yet but we’re getting closer every day.”

I approve of all these things… but until then, I’ll just run around pumping my fist in the air and yelling “MORTAL KOMBAAAAAAT!” like this guy:
