The Legitmately Chilling Tubi Original You Haven’t Seen Yet: “I didn’t see that ending coming even a little bit”

Tubi

Trying to catch up on all the horror that came out this year is a difficult task. However, it is not as hard as it was before the invention of free streaming apps like Tubi. The streamer is known for having the most eclectic collection of horror movies, including Tubi Originals after they finish making the rounds at film festivals. This is how we caught wind of Sorry, Charlie at this year’s Popcorn Frights. If you are unfamiliar with the title, we have you covered with the synopsis and trailer below.

In the film,

Charlie, a remote helpline volunteer descends into a chilling realm of horror as the sinister whispers of “The Gentleman” resurface. This malevolent stranger lures unsuspecting women from their homes with a recording of a crying baby. In the depths of a fateful night, eerie echoes of a child’s cries pierce through the darkness outside her home, gripping Charlie’s heart with a sudden dread as she starts to suspect that she’s not alone.

Sorry, Charlie was directed by Colton Tran and written by Luke Genton. The cast includes Kathleen Kenny, Connor Brannigan, Marisa Brown, and D’Arquoia Connor.

The movie quietly hit Tubi last month, where it has only gained more fans. Many viewers are very impressed with Kathleen Kenny’s final girl. Others are saying it’s one of their favorite finds on the streamer.

Dread Central’s Mary Beth McAndrews reviewed the film earlier this year and praised Kathleen Kenny’s performance.

Kenny does imbue Charlie with a lot of humanity, which is no easy task when you’re carrying the film on your shoulders. But Kenny’s compelling performance helps propel the narrative forward at a breakneck pace and keeps you invested in her journey every step of the way.”

Have you watched Sorry, Charlie on Tubi? Did it remind you of Scream 3 just a little bit too? Let us discuss either way at @misssharai.
