Michael Ansara, one of only six actors to play the same character in three different “Star Trek” series, passed away at the age of 91 this past Wednesday, July 31st, at his home in Calabasas, California, after a long illness.
He played Klingon commander Kang in “Star Trek” (1966), “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” (1993), and “Star Trek: Voyager” (1995). He also appeared in horror films The Manitou, Day of the Animals, It’s Alive, Dear Dead Delilah, and Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy along with classic TV series like “The Outer Limits,” “Kraft Suspense Theatre,” and “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.”
Ansara was predeceased by his son, Matthew, with former wife Barbara Eden (“I Dream of Jeannie”). He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beverly, a sister, and a niece and nephew.
