‘Furiosa’: Trailer for New ‘Mad Max’ Film is Breaking the Internet [Watch]
It is a great news day for fans of Mad Max: Fury Road (aka the correct Mad Max movie). Because we have a trailer for a prequel to our beloved film. According to Collider, Furiosa will give us the backstory of the hero we have deserved all along. Here is everything we know about this fifth installment in the Mad Max series that is scheduled to ride in on May 24th.
The official plot synopsis is as follows:
“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Furiosa is directed by George Miller. It is written by George Miller and Nico Lathouris and based on characters created by George Miller and Byron Kennedy. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Tom Burke.
I was one of the people who lived my best life with Mad Max: Fury Road. So, I am happy to see this character finally get another movie. I’m sad we could not keep Charlize Theron, but eager to see the iconic character live on nonetheless.
For those that need a bit more history on the franchise, the first Mad Max movie rolled onto screens in 1979. It was the first of three Australian post-apocalyptic dystopian action movies to star professional scumbag and occasional actor Mel Gibson. While the plot of the films and the supporting casts kept fans coming back, the franchise paused in 1985.

It was not until 2015 that the property was resurrected. People assumed Tom Hardy would become the face of the franchise as he took over the role of Max. However, Charlize Theron’s Furiosa told him to hold her beer as she and the ladies reenergized the series. Because of Mad Max: Fury Road’s ending, many assumed we would get more time with Furiosa. However, it has been almost a decade so we were beginning to think that the powers that be decided We Don’t Need Another Hero.
