The Most-Watched Netflix Series of 2023 Is A Thriller Stephen King Called “Ridiculously entertaining”
Apparently, Stephen King was not the only person watching Netflix this year. He was also not alone in his love for The Night Agent, which became the streamer’s most-watched show of 2023. According to What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report, the series was the most popular show in the first six months of the year, with an estimated 812,100,000 hours streamed.
This is even more impressive because the title did not arrive on the app until March 23. So, it definitely became an instant hit by racking up these numbers in just over two months.

The Night Agent also reached Netflix’s Top 10 charts in 93 countries and stayed in the Top 10 in the U.S. for 10 weeks. It debuted at #1 on the English TV List, with 168.71 million hours viewed within its first week. After a year like that, is it any wonder it got renewed for a second season?
If you are unfamiliar with this wildly popular series that Stephen King called “Farfetched, but ridiculously entertaining,” allow me to introduce you to this record-breaking thriller.
In the series,
“While monitoring an emergency line, an FBI agent answers a call that plunges him into a deadly conspiracy involving a mole at the White House.”

The Night Agent is based on a novel of the same name written by Matthew Quirk. It was adapted for television by Shawn Ryan. It stars Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Hong Chau, and D.B. Woodside.
Before the WGA and SAG labor strikes, season 2 was slated to hit Netflix in 2024. We will all keep an eye out to see if that is still an attainable goal. In the meantime, let me know if you are one of the millions of viewers who tuned into The Night Agent at @misssharai.
